Community Health Grant Awarded to
Wilbur D. Mills Treatment Center
Little Rock, Arkansas: The Arkansas Tobacco Settlement Commission (ATSC), is proud to announce the awards for its 2008 Community Health Grant Program. In a ceremony at the Arkansas State Capitol with Governor Mike Beebe, the ATSC Commissioners presented checks totaling $500,000.00 to 14 organizations around the state.
The Wilbur D. Mills Substance Abuse Treatment Center received $32,000.00 in a grant from the Program. Wilbur D. MIlls helps Arkansans with substance abuse problems overcome their addictions and re-enter society with tools to cope with their addiction. This grant funding will be used to help these patients focus on relinquishing their tobacco addictions, along with their substance abuse addictions through, proven and tested methods. Patients who give up both tobacco and substance abuse are more likely to avoid relapsing in the future.
