Drug Alcohol Safety Education Program
The Drug and Alcohol Safety Education Program (DASEP) is for
persons who plead guilty or are found guilty of Driving While
Intoxicated (DWI), Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Refusal to
Submit and other alcohol and drug offenses as ordered by the
court. The DASEP provides assessment, referral and educational
services throughout the ten-county catchment area.
HRA staff is present at court sessions throughout the area to
conduct pre-sentence screening reports on offenders, prior to
their being sentenced, with the purpose of determining the
appropriate level of education or treatment. Referral assistance
is provided as needed to other agencies or programs.
Court ordered, educational classes are held on a regular basis
within the area and consist of a minimum of ten (10) hours of
instruction. The course fee is $150 and is due prior to the
beginning of the first class.
