HRA Youth Center
Health Resources of Arkansas, Inc. Youth Center is a
non-secured residential outpatient facility located at 1355 East
Main Street in Batesville, AR. The Youth Center houses male and
female youth ages 13 to 17 years. Clients enter the program
either by court order from the 16th or 17th Judicial District,
or by referral of the Division of Children and Family Services
or Division of Youth Services on a statewide level. Other
affiliations include hospitals treating youth, medical
communities, schools and families.
All clients who are referred to the program are screened by a
therapist to determine whether the client is appropriate for the
program. The Youth Center does not accept any youth who are sex
offenders, fire setters, in need of medical detoxification,
homicidal, suicidal or whose I.Q. and social functioning is not
high enough to participate or benefit from the program. Clients
also must be able to attend public school or the Community
College during normal school hours.
Youth Center clients attend an in-house community integration
program five days per week. This is a day treatment type program
that focuses on improving Social Skills and Community Living,
Independent Living Skills, Vocational Development, Coping with
Disabilities, Understanding Psychiatric Disabilities or
Behavioral Health Needs, Use of Leisure Time and Recreation,
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Education and HIV/AIDS Education.
Clients also receive the following services as needed:
- Assessment
- Individual, Group & Family Counseling
- Case Management
- Medication Management
- Psychological Evaluations
Clients, parents, guardians and referral personnel are invited to attend staffing on a monthly basis.
